Medical Officer Job: Qualifications
- MBBS from a recognized medical institution
- Registration with the State/Central Medical Council
- Knowledge of occupational health laws, the Factory Act 1948, and industrial medical practices
- Experience in occupational health, emergency care, or industrial medical services is preferred
About the Role
The Occupational Health Medical Officer will support the CMO in delivering comprehensive medical care to employees and their families while ensuring compliance with statutory occupational health regulations. The role involves preventive healthcare, emergency response, medical surveillance, safety culture development, and health promotion initiatives within the cement plant and adopted villages.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-employment and annual medical examinations for permanent and contract workers
- Ensure full compliance with statutory requirements under the Factory Act, 1948
- Manage first-aid services, biomedical waste compliance, and medical documentation
- Assist in implementing occupational health and safety policies across the plant
- Provide emergency medical care and manage workplace injuries and illnesses
- Support health surveillance, risk assessments, and workplace hazard identification
- Participate in safety committees, audits, walkthroughs, and safety leadership programs
- Promote health, wellness, vaccination, and preventive care initiatives
- Maintain accurate medical records using the PAHAL application with strict confidentiality
- Coordinate emergency preparedness drills and liaise with external hospitals
- Contribute to system improvement initiatives such as IMS, WCM, 5S, Kaizen, and digitalization.
- Support community healthcare services in nearby and adopted villages
