Job Description
This Medical Advisor Job involves serving as a subject matter expert in diabetes within the Medical Affairs–Operations team at Novo Nordisk. The role focuses on developing and executing global medical affairs strategies, translating scientific data into actionable medical plans, engaging with internal and external stakeholders, and supporting product lifecycle management across regions and affiliates. This medical affairs job requires strong scientific expertise, strategic thinking, and collaboration within matrixed global teams.
Qualifications
- MD with a strong clinical or research background.
- Minimum 5–8 years of clinical/medical pharmaceutical industry experience (senior-level medical affairs experience preferred).
- Strong clinical and/or research background in diabetes mellitus with experience in scientific analysis, communication, and drug development.
- Understanding of pharmaceutical drug development and healthcare infrastructure.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking, independent decision-making, and project leadership skills.
- Excellent proactive communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to leverage AI tools and adopt a data-driven approach.
- Experience working in matrixed global organizations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of medical affairs strategy in alignment with organizational priorities.
- Generate, interpret, and communicate scientific data to ensure appropriate positioning, lifecycle planning, and product value propositions.
- Deliver timely, accurate, and credible medical education and guidance to internal and external stakeholders.
- Build strategic relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), professional societies, and academic partners.
- Represent the organization in scientific forums and symposia.
- Translate insights from KOL interactions, external evidence, and market intelligence into actionable medical strategy.
- Lead publication planning and be accountable for assigned posters, abstracts, and manuscripts.
- Provide medical/scientific support to marketing, legal, and regulatory.
- Coach and support junior colleagues and contribute to cross-functional initiatives.
