About the Department
The Medical Oncology department at Tata Medical Center is one of the most advanced in the country. It handles a high patient load and encourages site-specific specialization.

Job Description
The selected candidate will join an eminent team of Medical Oncologists at Tata Medical Center. The hospital registers more than 17,000 new patients annually, with a major focus on solid organ cancers. This MD job offers exposure to multidisciplinary tumor boards, real-world data research, and clinical trials, including phase 2 and phase 3 studies. Candidates will also have opportunities to participate in translational research and immuno-oncology programs.
The department runs National Board accredited super-specialty training and supports academic growth through research publications and collaborative programs, making it an excellent freshers job as well as a career-advancing DM job.
Qualifications
- MD/DNB with three years fellowship programme in Medical Oncology
OR - Fresh DM/DNB in Medical Oncology
Key Responsibilities
- To look after in-patients and out patients who are under the treatment of Medical Oncology
- To attend to emergency patients under Medical Oncology who present to Emergency during day time
- To do clinical rounds daily in the in-patient along with consultants of the Medical Oncology team
- To understand the care needs of patients who are being discharged home and help set-up out-patient treatment plan post discharge
- To communicate effectively with patients and family members
- To work and interface with multidisciplinary teams including Surgical Oncology, Paediatric Oncology, Radiation Oncology, and Palliative Medicine
- To engage in audit and research activities of the department
- To do night calls on a shared rota (around once a week or less)
