Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy

    • Be accountable for the development and execution of the SEA & India MCO, RD Medical Roadmap, integrated Medical Action Plan and integrated Evidence Generation Plan (iEGP) for priority disease areas.
    • Provide strategic leadership and oversight of projects and activities for the Medical team and work in close collaboration with other departments including brand teams market access and Public Affairs.
    • Translate the global franchise and medical strategies into local context to support the execution of the medical plan in the different countries in the MCO at Sanofi Careers.
    • Leverage patients and HCP insights to ensure transforming patient journey though diagnostic projects.
    • Work with various internal stakeholders to align on strategy including:
      • Ensure alignment of office-based and field-based activities as part of the SEA & India MCO, RD Medical Roadmap
      • MCO/ Country Medical Heads
      • Global Medical team to ensure alignment of the SE Asia & India MCO, RD Medical strategy.
      • Additional cross-functional internal stakeholders to develop strategic imperatives and downstream strategies and tactics to support RD goals.
    • Maintain portfolio mindset, serving as primary point of contact for near-term business and development licensing opportunities for the RD
    • Provide strategic guidance and insights on complex market access and Medical issues.
    • Lead and drive the development of advanced Medical and scientific strategies for the rare diseases, incorporating RD-specific details.
    • Support for Global LSD registry team on PI and site engagement for smoother local operation in this Job in Mumbai
    • Ensure support for implementation of global ICAP projects both in MCO and local partner markets.
    • Closely collaborate with evidence generation advisor and cross-functional partners to provide inputs on evidence generation to support products in pre-/peri-launch phases.
    • Cultivate innovation mindset in providing country level insights for the long term portfolio strategy with the global team.
  • Launch excellence for haemophilia

    • Serve as the scientific expert on haemophilia A & B, including patients with and without inhibitors
    • Understand competitive landscape and differentiation of portfolio
    • Build and maintain relationships with haematologists, haemophilia treatment centres (HTCs), and key opinion leaders (KOLs)
    • Contribute to the development and execution of the medical brand strategy in this Medical Lead Job.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Commercial, Market Access, Regulatory)
    • Engage with patient advocacy organizations in the haemophilia community
    • Support patient support programs
    • Partner with Commercial, Market Access, and Regulatory teams to ensure integrated launch execution
    • Drive the pre launch and launch excellence activities to ensure the haemophilia community is well prepared to adopt the newer treatments
  • People Leadership

    • Lead SE Asia & India MCO, RD Medical team and build agile team in the MCO where expertise are shared across the countries, create innovative model/projects where country initiatives could benefit MCO.
    • Identify champions by TA across the MCO and these champions to serve the MCO needs.
    • Create a best-in-class talent pipeline by developing, identifying, and attracting talent
    • Serve as a role Model that embodies Sanofi’s culture.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance for those overseeing the development of advanced educational materials and presentations for use by the Medical team.
  • Foster growth and development through clear performance expectations and regular coaching/feedback, encouraging a culture of continuous learning, and improvement.
  • Facilitate a positive and inclusive team culture that values diversity, excellence, and collaboration.
  • Collaborate with internal partner to acquire, retain, and develop talent.
  • External Stakeholder Engagement

    • Conduct and maintain in-depth stakeholder engagement plan.
    • Identify and address challenges to optimal patient care through partnership with Systems of Care, Academic Medical Centers, HCPs, and other Professional Societies.
    • Provide a high scientific level of expertise within the SE Asia & India MCO, RD team; develop and lead collaborations with key experts in the field.
    • Maintain relationships with key professional societies and key experts.
    • Provide guidance on SE Asia & India MCO, Rare Disease products and related Medical issues and seek impactful insights.
    • Provide scientific education on disease states, epidemiology, and clinical trials of SE Asia & India MCO, RD products when relevant.
    • Lead external advisory boards focused on SE Asia & India MCO, RD products and pipeline, new launches and diagnostic-related projects.
    • Data GenerationEmpower Medical team to oversee the design and execution of Sanofi-sponsored studies, including Ph 4 post-marketing and observational studies, based on the country need.Coordinate investigator-initiated study (IIS) Progress with Evidence Generation Advisor and Country Study Lead.Provide Medical input to design integrated evidence generation plans (iEGP) to global R&D encompassing clinical development (Ph1-3) and post-marketing clinical trials (Ph4).undefined·       Medical OperationsProvide Medical guidance to internal Sanofi customers, including contribution of medical information and clinical trial data for pharmacovigilance (PV) reports to health authorities (if relevant).Oversee creation of educational materials and presentation for use by the medical team, development scientific communication and education initiatives using scientific/Medical expertise, customer insights, and understanding of launch strategy; train and educate internal and external stakeholders.Develop and oversee the RD budget, ensuring optimal resource allocation and cost-effective approaches are used to achieve strategic objectives.

About You:

  • Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate-level education: MD or equivalent Medical degree preferred. 10+ years’ experience in Medical Affairs, with rare diseases; rare blood disorder experience is preferred.3+ years’ experience in managing teams. Ability to travel up to 30% of the time

  • Preferred Qualifications:

    • Clinical experience: Ideally recognized as an expert in rare diseases or a related discipline.
    • Rare disease and rare blood disorders experience either from academia/research and/or preferably the pharma industry with relevant HCP and patient journey knowledge.
    • Strong understanding of the Healthcare system in SE Asia & India.

Soft & Technical Skills Required for the Medical Lead Job:

  • Strong business acumen to create compelling and effective Medical strategies that serves to benefit patients, HCPs, and other key external stakeholders.
  • Ability to effectively manage a team.
  • Ability to understand and effectively communicate clinical studies, both interventional and observational.
