- Position: Ramanujan Fellow (Research Fellowship Program)
- Duration of the Fellowship: The duration of the Ramanujan Fellowship program is five years and is not extendable.

Fellowship Benefits:
- Fellowship amount: ₹1,35,000 per month (consolidated, including HRA)
- Research grant: ₹7.00 lakh per annum for consumables, travel, research personnel, and contingencies
- Overhead charges: ₹60,000 per annum
- Ramanujan Fellows are also eligible for additional research grants through extramural funding schemes of the Government of India S&T agencies
Medical Fellowship Description:
The Ramanujan Fellowship is intended for outstanding Indian and Indian-origin scientists and engineers who wish to undertake significant research in India. This medical fellowship allows recipients to work at various scientific institutions and universities across the country. The fellowship is highly selective and aims to attract top talent to enhance India’s research landscape. Fellows will also have access to regular research grants through various S&T agencies of the Government of India.

- Not hold any permanent/tenure track/contractual position in India.
- Currently working abroad at the time of nomination.

Qualifications Required for the Medical Fellowship:
- The Ramanujan Fellowship is open to brilliant Indian/Indian Origin scientists and engineers from abroad, below 40 years of age
- Nominee must hold a higher degree, such as an MD in Medicine, with adequate professional experience
- This international fellowship is highly selective and requires a proven and outstanding research track record
- The fellowship is only for scientists not holding any permanent, tenure-track, or contractual position in any Indian institution
- The nominee should be working abroad at the time of nomination
Methodology for Nomination & Selection:
- Scientists may choose any S&T institution, university department, academic institution, or national laboratory in India
- The host institution must provide the required administrative and R&D infrastructure
- The fellowship program is meant for working in new research areas and laboratories other than where the Ph.D. was obtained
- Nominations from Ph.D. supervisors or the same Ph.D. institution will not be considered
- The selection of Ramanujan Fellows is carried out periodically by an empowered selection committee appointed by ANRF
