Job Description
All the SRs to be recruited at JIPMER, Puducherry shall be posted to work at JIPMER, Karaikal Campus on rotation basis.
SRs to be recruited in the Department of Radiodiagnosis will be deputed to Yanam Campus regularly and to make periodic visits to Karaikal campus on rotation basis.
He / She may work in shifts and can be posted at any place in the Institute as per the discretion of the Medical Superintendent/Dean/Director.
The appointment is full time basis and private practice of any type is prohibited.
JIPMER SR Recruitment: Eligibility Criteria
Upper Age Limit: Not exceeding 45 years as on crucial date i.e 16.11.2026. Age relaxation permissible beyond the upper age limit as on crucial date.
- SC/ST candidates: 5 years
- OBC candidates: 3 years
- Persons with Bench-mark Disabilities [PWBD] UR/EWS category: 10 years
- Persons with Bench-mark Disabilities [PWBD] OBC Category: 13 years
- Persons with Bench-mark Disabilities [PWBD] SC/ST Category: 15 years
Essential Qualification & Experience:
- Medical Departments: An NMC/MCI-recognized postgraduate medical degree of MD/MS/DNB in the respective discipline from a recognized University/Institute.
- Neurosurgery: A post graduate medical degree viz, MS/DNB in Surgery. MCh./ DrNB (Neurosurgery) from a recognized university/Institute or equivalent qualification may also apply.
- Neurology: A post graduate medical degree viz MD/DNB in Medicine/Paediatric. DM/DrNB (Neurology) from recognized university/Institute or equivalent qualification may also apply.
Important Note: Crucial date for determination of eligibility with regards to age and educational qualification etc. will be 16.11.2026. To be eligible for selection, candidates should complete all the requirements for the qualifying degree (e.g. passing the examination and completing the mandatory period of Junior Residenceship, if any) by 16.11.2026. Those who do not fulfill any of the above conditions need not apply. Mere appearing in the interview will not imply any determination of final eligibility.
Salary
Selected candidates in the JIPMER Senior Resident Recruitment will receive Rs.1,28,359/- per month consolidated (No enhancement during the contract period).

Verification of Certificates of Candidates & Reporting Time: 18.11.2026 (Wednesday), 07.00 AM
Reporting Venue: 5th Floor, Telemedicine Room, IT Wing, Administrative Block, JIPMER Campus.
Certificate Verification shall be conducted at ADMINISTRATIVE BLOCK, JIPMER PUDUCHERRY. The candidates are required to report at 07.00 AM on the same day at the venue mentioned above.
The candidates are required to report for Interview at 07.00 AM sharp at JIPMER Administrative Block & after 8.30 AM no candidate will be entertained.
Documents Required
- Proof of Date of Birth (i.e. 10th/12th Passing/Birth certificate)
- MBBS Degree Certificate and Internship Certificate.
- MD/MS/DNB Degree or Provisional certificate, DM/MCh/Dr.NB degree or provisional certificate (if applicable)
- Course cum Conduct certificate indicating completion of Junior Residency ship tenure.
- Bonafide certificate obtained from Dean/Principal of college integrating the date of completion of PG programme (Applicable who are passing PG course and completing on or before 16.11.2026)
- SC/ST, EWS (Current FY 2026-27) & OBC (Latest Non-Creamy layer) certificate, if applicable.
- No objection certificate from current employer at the time of Interview for Verification. (If applicable)
- 3 Passport size photos
Only those candidates whose certificates are found to be in order shall be permitted to appear for the Interview.

Additional Information
Reservation: Reservation has been provided in the Senior Resident posts in accordance with Rules. Reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBDs) candidates is 4% which will be provided on horizontal basis. The minimum degree of disability (benchmark disability) to be eligible for availing reservation for PwBDs is 40%.
Selection Procedure: The weightage of personal interview is 100%. The merit list(s) for all categories will be prepared on the basis of Interview. In case of two or more candidates secured equal marks, it will be resolved based on date of birth. Elder candidate (earlier date of birth) will be ranked higher than younger candidate.
