Emergency Medicine Job – Job Description:
- Professional Approach: Adapt a professional approach with all patients, staff, and visitors.
- Medical Coverage: Provide medical cover, routine, and emergency, during duty hours and work in conjunction with other specialties.
- Procedural Skills: Perform procedures like Central line, IV Channelization, Intubation, etc.
- Instrument Operation: Operate instruments like Ventilator.
- Clinical Protocols: Follow all clinical safety, hygiene, and infection control protocols.
- Patient Monitoring: Be available to monitor patients as required or requested.
- Problem Identification: Identify complex health problems and report immediately to the concerned doctor.
- Clinical Management: Supervise daily clinical management of all patients under consultant guidance.
- Pain Management: Prescribe pain management medicines.
- Effective Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, family, colleagues, and other health care workers.
- Treatment Documentation: Complete treatment sheets with diagnosis in capital letters, dated, named, and signed by the doctor.
- Rounds Assistance: Assist Consultants for rounds and take independent rounds, following up on patient care.
- Consultant Rounds: Accompany Consultants for rounds and take notes as required.
- Discharge Summary: Prepare the discharge summary.
- Patient Assessment: Responsible for assessing new patients admitted.
- On-call Duty: Follow the on-call and duty rota based on the department’s requirements.
- Quality Improvement: Participate in the Quality Improvement Initiative and protocols of the organization.
