Job Description
As the Clinical Documentation Integrity Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day implementation of the CDI program. This CDI job is ideal for an mbbs job seeker looking to leverage their clinical knowledge in a non-patient-facing environment. You will coordinate closely with leadership and CDI teams to drive process improvements, mentor staff, and enhance documentation quality.
The Clinical Documentation Integrity Manager is responsible for providing CDI program oversight and day to day CDI implementation of processes related to concurrent review of clinical documentation in inpatient medical records. The role supports CDI Lead functions, including staff oversight, reporting, auditing, mentoring, and participation in client meetings.
Qualifications
Required
- MBBS (Indian or Foreign Medical Graduate)
- 1+ years of experience with corporate especially US healthcare
- Solid understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, and related software
Preferred
- MBBS (Indian/FMG) degree
- Experience in case management and/or critical care
- Supervisor or management experience
- Experience with EHR/EMR systems
- Ability to manage complex projects and timelines
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with CDI program lead India (Associate Director) in driving workflow for CDI staff
- Assist and coordinate CDI staff training and orientation
- Support chart audits, quality audits, and KPI audits
- Ensure adequate staffing and assist teams during high workload
- Develop physician teaching and presentations
- Assist CDI program lead with projects and assigned tasks
- Approve time cards and evaluate team performance regularly
- Communicate performance expectations to CDI staff
- Ensure expert-level review of inpatient clinical records within 24–48 hours of admission
- Identify gaps in clinical documentation for accurate coding and severity representation
- Oversee follow-up communication with providers for documentation clarity
- Provide support for improving clinical documentation quality
- Ensure timely feedback to providers on documentation improvements
- Ensure proper use of CAC / Midas tools for documentation tracking
- Use approved forms for physician queries
- Collaborate with medical coding professionals to resolve discrepancies
- Conduct meetings to monitor retrospective query rates
- Engage with internal and domestic teams to resolve provider issues
- Work with quality management teams to improve documentation processes
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and evolving work requirements
