Job Description:

The Medical Officer Job is within the Critical Care Unit at CNCI and is designated as ITU RMO. The position is intended for MBBS-qualified doctors who already have experience managing patients in a critical-care environment.

The selected Medical Officer will work within the institute’s critical-care services and support the clinical management and monitoring of patients requiring intensive medical care.

Candidates should note that the vacancy specifically requires a minimum of two years of working experience in a Critical Care Unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide medical care to patients admitted to the Critical Care Unit (ITU).
  • Assess and monitor critically ill patients and identify changes in their clinical condition.
  • Perform timely clinical evaluations and support appropriate treatment decisions.
  • Monitor vital signs and other critical patient parameters.
  • Assist in the stabilization and management of acutely and critically ill patients.
  • Coordinate patient care with senior doctors, specialists, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies and deterioration in patient condition.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records, progress notes, and relevant medical documentation.
  • Follow established Critical Care Unit protocols, patient-safety practices, and infection-control measures.
  • Support continuity of care during duty handovers and communicate important clinical updates to the treating team.

Educational Requirements for this Medical Officer Job:

  • Candidates must possess a recognized medical qualification included in the First or Second Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule, other than a licentiate qualification, to the applicable Indian Medical Council legislation as specified in the official notification.
  • Candidates whose qualifications fall under Part II of the Third Schedule must also satisfy the additional conditions specified in the notification.
  • MBBS with a minimum of 2 years of working experience in a Critical Care Unit.
  • This is therefore not a fresher Medical Officer vacancy. Applicants should ensure they can provide documentary evidence of the required Critical Care Unit experience.
