Program Overview:
This is not a conventional classroom-based training program. Each selected trainee will be assigned to a CSIR-CCMB staff scientist who will act as a mentor. Students will execute a small research project under expert supervision. The summer training program also includes lectures on popular science topics, scientific ethics, good laboratory practices, and career opportunities in life sciences. At the end of the program, students must submit a project report and present their work through a poster presentation. The primary goal of this training program is to provide real-time, hands-on research exposure.
Eligibility Criteria:
The training program is open to students from all branches of life sciences studying at any Indian University, College, or Research Institute. Eligible candidates include:

MBBS / BDS students who have completed three years of study
Duration of the Program:
- Total duration: 60 days (approximately 8 weeks)
- All selected candidates must complete the full 60-day tenure without any break
- Applications mentioning less than 60 days will not be considered
Key Responsibilities:
- Work under the supervision of a CSIR-CCMB scientist
- Execute a short-term research project
- Attend lecture series on science, ethics, and laboratory practices

- An authorization letter from the HOD or Dean in the prescribed format must be uploaded
- Academic records from the 10th standard onwards must be submitted
- In case of unavailable semester results, a certificate stating “results awaited” must be uploaded
- Selection is based on academic excellence and SOP, with an average selection rate of less than 10%
