About the Role
The regional medical advisor plays a critical role within the EPD medical organization by providing scientific and medical support across assigned therapeutic areas. The role involves active engagement with healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders, and academic institutions to ensure credible scientific exchange, support medical projects, and strengthen Abbott’s scientific leadership—without direct sales responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all activities comply with local, national, and global laws, regulations, codes of conduct, and Abbott policies
- Provide high-quality scientific and technical support to healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with regional and national opinion leaders and academic centers
- Design and deliver innovative, high-science medical education initiatives for physicians and KOLs
- Support therapy-shaping initiatives in collaboration with Medical Affairs and Commercial teams
- Assist in the initiation, oversight, and follow-up of clinical studies and post-marketing medical projects (Phase IV, registries, epidemiological studies, IIS projects)
- Deliver unbiased, accurate scientific presentations in meetings, clinical sessions, and group forums
- Participate in identifying and engaging qualified physicians for research collaborations, advisory boards, congresses, and symposia
- Strengthen Abbott’s scientific credibility through informed dialogue and ethical medical engagement
