About the Role
As a medical officer, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive medical care to approximately 6,000 plant employees. This role under Aditya Birla combines clinical practice with occupational health management, regulatory compliance, and preventive healthcare initiatives in an industrial setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide primary medical care and emergency medical response at the plant
- Conduct pre-employment, periodic, and fitness-to-work medical examinations
- Implement occupational health surveillance programs (audiometry, spirometry, etc.)
- Ensure statutory compliance under the Factories Act and State Rules
- Manage Occupational Health Centre (OHC) operations, including staff, medicines, equipment, and ambulance readiness
- Coordinate with Certifying Surgeons for hazardous process certifications
- Organize health awareness programs on PPE use, ergonomics, and lifestyle disease prevention
- Liaise with nearby hospitals for referrals and emergency tie-ups
- Prepare monthly health reports and compliance dashboards for management
