Orange Health Labs Careers: Qualifications
- MD in Biochemistry or PhD in Biochemistry from a recognized institution
- Valid medical license (where applicable)
- 1–3 years of hands-on experience in clinical or diagnostic biochemistry
- Strong understanding of clinical biochemistry and laboratory diagnostics
- Experience in regulated laboratory environments is preferred
About the Role
The Consultant MD Biochemist/PhD Biochemistry will play a critical role in overseeing laboratory operations, ensuring accuracy and reliability of diagnostic testing, and driving quality, innovation, and compliance across biochemical services. This role combines clinical expertise with leadership, quality assurance, and research collaboration to enhance diagnostic outcomes at scale.
Key Responsibilities
Laboratory Operations & Oversight
- Oversee end-to-end laboratory workflows, including personnel, equipment, and resources
- Ensure strict adherence to SOPs, quality standards, and regulatory guidelines
- Maintain compliance across all diagnostic and laboratory processes
Test Development & Validation
- Develop, validate, and implement new biochemical assays and diagnostic tests
- Evaluate and adopt advanced methodologies to improve diagnostic accuracy
- Ensure protocols meet scientific and regulatory requirements
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Monitor test accuracy, precision, and reliability
- Conduct audits, proficiency testing, and internal quality checks
- Ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, FDA, and other regulatory standards
Research & Innovation
- Collaborate with internal R&D teams and external partners
- Explore emerging biomarkers and innovative diagnostic technologies
- Support translational research and implementation of novel assays
Training & Mentorship
- Train laboratory staff on biochemical testing principles and best practices
- Mentor junior professionals to build technical and operational excellence
