Job Description
This First Aid Job involves providing immediate first aid care and basic medical support to students, staff, and visitors during school hours. The role plays a vital part in ensuring student health, safety, and well-being while supporting school health policies and safeguarding procedures.
Qualifications
- Certification in First Aid and CPR/AED (mandatory)
- Diploma or training in Health Care, or Paramedical Services
- Prior experience working in a school, clinic, or healthcare setting
- Knowledge of child health, basic hygiene, and emergency response procedures
Key Responsibilities
- Provide immediate first aid care for injuries, illnesses, and medical emergencies.
- Monitor students who feel unwell and determine appropriate action, including rest, referral, or escalation.
- Administer basic medications as authorized by school policy and parental consent.
- Maintain accurate medical records, incident reports, and treatment logs.
- Assist in managing students with chronic conditions (e.g., asthma, allergies, diabetes).
- Ensure the school sick room/clinic is clean, well-stocked, and compliant with safety standards.
- Maintain and regularly check first aid kits and emergency equipment.
- Support implementation of school health, safety, and hygiene protocols.
- Assist during emergencies, drills, and evacuation procedures.
- Communicate promptly with parents/guardians regarding student health issues.
- Coordinate with teachers, school administrators, and external medical services when required.
- Always maintain confidentiality of medical information.
- Maintain student medical records and update health information.
- Support health screenings, immunization checks, and school medical programs (if applicable).
- Assist with documentation for accidents, insurance, and compliance requirements.
