Qualifications

  • Physician: Graduate of a recognized healthcare-related program
  • EMT Basic, Intermediate, or Advanced/Paramedic: Certification or license as an emergency medical technician, if allowable.
  • One (1) year of experience in hospital, field care, or plasma center settings is preferred
  • Ability to work day, evening, weekend, holiday, and extended shifts as needed.
  • Current, valid state license/certification (Physician, RN, LPN, EMT, or equivalent as allowed by state).
  • Current CPR certification.
  • State-issued authorization or license to perform moderate complexity testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate donor eligibility through medical history reviews, physical assessments, and informed consent discussions in accordance with SOPs, FDA, CLIA, and cGMP
  • Review, document, and verify donor information, immunization records, and test results in the donor management system (NexLynk).
  • Classify donors into appropriate programs and monitor for adverse reactions, providing care as allowed by training and licensure.
  • Consult with the center Licensed Physician regarding abnormal results, donor eligibility concerns, and immunization orders.
  • Counsel deferred donors, ensure confidentiality, and refer donors to health departments when needed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, such as Physician Communication Logs and donor eligibility assessments.
  • Train as a Donor Center Technician I and serve as a QA Backup when needed.
  • Mentor and train new Medical Professionals as a Designated Trainer to support workforce development in this job environment.
  • Support center compliance with SOPs, quality systems, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure an efficient, donor-focused setting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
