Job Description:

Under the latest Astellas Careers opportunity, the organization is hiring a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to support oncology medical affairs activities within India. The selected candidate will be responsible for implementing medical strategies, generating scientific insights, engaging with Key External Experts (KEEs), supporting investigator-sponsored research initiatives, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders. Key Responsibilities for the Medical Affairs Job:

Medical Affairs Strategy & Execution:

  • Support the development and execution of Core Medical Plans (CMP).
  • Provide medical input into strategic business plans.
  • Deliver scientific product presentations internally and externally.
  • Participate in and lead advisory board activities.
  • Support product training for marketing and sales teams.
  • Contribute therapeutic area expertise to cross-functional teams.

Insights Generation:

  • Gather and communicate scientific insights from external stakeholders.
  • Develop and execute medical communication plans.
  • Support the use of scientific information aligned with product strategies.
  • Attend scientific conferences and gather therapeutic area insights.

Clinical Research Support:

  • Evaluate Investigator Sponsored Research (ISR) proposals.
  • Assess scientific merit and protocol design.
  • Support regional and global clinical trial activities when required.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build relationships with Key External Experts (KEEs).
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and regulatory stakeholders.
  • Support medical affairs meetings and scientific events.
  • Assist Medical Leads in planning scientific engagement activities.

Learning & Development:

  • Maintain expertise in assigned therapeutic areas.
  • Participate in scientific meetings and congresses.
  • Support medical and product training initiatives across the organization.

Compliance & Governance:

  • Maintain compliance with local regulations and company SOPs.
  • Ensure ethical scientific engagement and communication.
  • Recognize and escalate legal and compliance concerns when necessary.

Educational Requirements:

  • Medical Degree and Advanced Scientific Degree in Health Sciences.
  • Strong scientific and medical knowledge.
  • Oncology-related educational background preferred.

Experience Required:

  • Minimum 1 year for the Medical Affairs function in oncology.
