Job Description:

This medical affairs job falls under the Specialist Career Stream and is typically an individual contributor role with responsibility in a professional discipline or specialty. The role requires mastery of a specialty area and full knowledge of industry practices, typically obtained through advanced education and experience. It requires a Baccalaureate degree (or equivalent) and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

  • MBBS/ MD/ DM/ BDS/ MDS

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities may include the following, and other duties may be assigned:

  • Demonstrating extensive knowledge of all clinical and scientific data for Medtronic products and maintaining a deep understanding of the science behind them.
  • Providing advanced subject matter expertise and medical input to various functions (General Management, Global Strategy & Portfolio Management, Business Development & Licensing, Research & Development, & Marketing) to facilitate decision-making and enable achievement of business objectives.
  • Ensuring effective, objective value propositions are developed and articulated for Medtronic technologies to stakeholders (patients, health care providers, payers, government agencies, health technology assessment organizations, public) through appropriate channels.
  • Developing competitive intelligence in the product space.
  • Driving education and outreach for safe and effective use of products.
  • Developing, implementing, and overseeing integrated evidence-based medical affairs strategic plans for relevant Medtronic organizations.
  • Building and nurturing deep, collegial relationships with key thought leaders, professional societies, and payers.
  • Driving the adoption of tools and techniques for the safe and effective use of products.
  • Communicating product-related information to investigators, institutions, and key stakeholders, including medical groups, government agencies, and health systems.
  • Providing perspective to field activities associated with growing existing products and bringing new products to market.
  • (MBBS/ MD, BDS /MDS Designation only) Licensed Practitioners may bridge communication between sales, marketing, and clinical teams.
  • Conducting continuing education workshops, seminars, and programs for graduate physicians, pharmacists, and scientists.
  • Responding to unsolicited inquiries.
