Job Description:
NHSRC, New Delhi, on behalf of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW), is inviting applications for the contractual position of Senior Consultant – Tribal Health. The role involves reviewing and analysing tribal health programmes, coordinating with programme divisions, documenting innovations and supporting policy and programme development. The position is New Delhi-based with travel to different states and districts. The remuneration ranges from ₹90,000 to ₹1,50,000 per month, depending on qualifications and experience. Key Responsibilities:
The Senior Consultant will be responsible for:
- Reviewing and reporting matters related to tribal health on time.
- Coordinating with programme divisions of the Ministry and obtaining relevant feedback and inputs.
- Preparing analytical reports on programmes concerning tribal health.
- Documenting state- and district-level innovations.
- Undertaking analytical documentation to identify required changes in policy, programme planning and implementation.
- Contributing to technical and policy briefs, reports, case studies, monitoring checklists and protocols.
- Supporting operational research and impact assessments for improving tribal health interventions.
- Coordinating with States and various divisions within the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.
- Undertaking additional assignments as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Educational Requirements for this Medical Consultant Job:

Essential Qualification:
Bachelor’s Degree in any one of:
- MBBS
- BDS
- BAMS
- BHMS
- BUMS (AYUSH)
Postgraduate Degree in any one of:

- MSc – Health Systems Research
- MSc – Epidemiology
- Health Policy & Planning
Important: A postgraduate diploma is not sufficient for the Senior Consultant role.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience in the public health sector.
- At least 2 years of experience must demonstrably relate to health systems, policy or programme implementation concerning tribal, rural or other marginalised communities.
- Experience in documentation, data analysis, report writing and presentations is required.
