Brief Description of the Project:

This study underlines work in maternal and child health involving pregnant mothers, infants, and school children, particularly addressing nutrition during pregnancy and body composition in infants and school children.

Medical Job – Qualifications:

  • Medical degree (MBBS) with a postgraduate qualification (MD/MS/DNB) in Obstetrics & Gynecology, Community Medicine, or Pediatrics.
  • Proven experience in a clinical setting is required.
  • Experience in coordinating or managing multicenter clinical trials or community-based health research is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and national ethical guidelines for research.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills to manage a diverse, multi-centric team.

Job Description

The Project Research Scientist II (Medical) will lead clinical research activities within the ICMR-CAR-MANASI Project. The role involves coordinating multi-centric clinical trials, managing participant safety, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supervising field teams. Medical Job – Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical leadership to the trial team, ensuring that all medical procedures are conducted safely and in accordance with protocol.
  • Serve as the primary medical contact for the study, overseeing the clinical safety of participants in both the maternal-child cohort and the school-based trial.
  • Coordinate all multi-centric trial operations, including participant recruitment, screening, and follow-up, ensuring clinical eligibility criteria are met.
  • Train and supervise the field team (e.g., nutritionists, phlebotomists) on clinical data collection, sample handling, and participant care protocols.
  • Ensure the integrity and quality of all clinical data and maintain regulatory documents, including reporting to the ethics committee (IERB).
