Key Responsibilities of a Medical Science Liaison:

  • Build and maintain trusted scientific relationships with healthcare professionals, investigators, thought leaders, medical societies, and patient advocacy groups.
  • Deliver accurate and compliant scientific presentations, medical education sessions, and peer-to-peer scientific exchanges.
  • Serve as a key scientific resource in Oncology for both external and internal stakeholders.
  • Support clinical trial activities, including site identification, feasibility assessments, investigator engagement, and patient recruitment.
  • Facilitate Investigator-Sponsored Research (ISR), collaborative studies, and evidence-generation initiatives.
  • Collect, analyze, and communicate medical insights, treatment trends, and competitive intelligence to internal teams.
  • Contribute to local and regional medical affairs strategies, scientific engagement plans, and advisory board activities.
  • Provide scientific training and medical updates to internal teams, including Clinical Operations, Regulatory Affairs, Pharmacovigilance, Market Access, and Commercial.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, healthcare regulations, and pharmacovigilance requirements, including adverse event reporting.
  • Leverage digital tools and AI-enabled technologies to enhance scientific engagement and stakeholder interactions.

Educational Requirements for the Job:

Candidates should possess one of the following qualifications:

  • MD (Doctor of Medicine)
  • PharmD (Doctor of Pharmacy)
  • PhD in a relevant life sciences or medical discipline
  • Science graduates with significant pharmaceutical industry experience may also be considered

Preferred educational background:

  • Oncology specialization or experience
  • Clinical research exposure
  • Medical affairs experience
  • Strong scientific and medical knowledge

Experience Required:

  • Minimum 2 years of pharmaceutical industry experience in a customer-facing role.
  • 2–3+ years of Medical Science Liaison (MSL) experience preferred.
  • Experience working in Oncology, medical affairs, or clinical research environments.
  • Demonstrated expertise in clinical trial support and investigator engagement.
  • Experience supporting patient recruitment and site feasibility assessments.
  • Knowledge of Investigator-Sponsored Research (ISR) and non-interventional studies.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex scientific and clinical information effectively.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Clinical, Regulatory, Commercial, Pharmacovigilance, and Medical Affairs.
