About the Role
The Associate Professor/Professor will play a key role in delivering high-quality optometry education, advancing research in vision science, supervising clinical training, and contributing to departmental growth. Senior faculty members are expected to provide academic leadership, guide research initiatives, and support accreditation and institutional development.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate optometry courses (theory, practical, and clinical)
- Design, review, and update curriculum aligned with regulatory and global standards
- Supervise clinical training, internships, student projects, and dissertations
- Conduct and publish research in optometry and vision science
- Secure and manage funded research projects and grants
- Supervise university eye clinics and optometry laboratories
- Participate in community eye-care outreach and vision screening programs
- Mentor junior faculty and support academic planning
- Contribute to accreditation, quality assurance, and academic audits (NAAC, NBA, etc.)
