Job Description
The Processing Laboratory Lab Assistants prepare blood donor samples for testing, perform quality control testing, and provide support to the Bench Techs to help ensure the right product gets to the right patient. In addition, Lab Assistants prepare components, release and label products, and prepare products for shipping.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent is required; previous work in the medical field is preferred
- Associate’s Degree or Medical Assistant Degree is preferred
- Very detail oriented with great accuracy
- Great communication skills and ability to work as a team player
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare blood donor samples for testing
- Perform quality control testing
- Support Bench Techs to ensure accurate product delivery
- Prepare components, release and label products
- Prepare products for shipping
- Maintain detailed accuracy in all laboratory procedures
- Collaborate effectively within a professional healthcare team
