Job Description
This MBBS Job contributes to improving cardiovascular health in India by supporting the government and other partners to implement high-quality, impactful hypertension control programming. The Technical Advisor is responsible for strengthening partners’ capacity, including in program design, planning, implementation, and progress tracking, to improve the quality of care and achieve 50% hypertension control. This is a two-year fixed-term employment position with the possibility of extension, making it a valuable opportunity among medical jobs in Delhi for experienced public health professionals.
Qualifications
Education: MBBS required, with post graduate degree in Public Health or equivalent a plus
Experience:
- Minimum eight years of professional experience in public health programming, including at least three years of working with national/ state governments;
- Prior experience in Non-communicable Diseases and Health System Strengthening is desirable.
- Experience of working closely with State and National Government institutions, including Ministries, National Health Mission (NHM), and State Health Departments, to support program design, implementation, and policy translation is desirable.
- Prior work experience with State and National government, especially with NHM, and in-depth understanding of national public health programs;
- Experience in providing technical assistance related to strengthening institutional and individual capacity in health systems, across all levels.
- Demonstrated experience writing technical reports and proposals, policy briefs, and publications, including the development of compelling presentations with the ability to translate technical content and results into formats suitable for various audiences.
- Experience in operations research, scientific writing, including contributions to peer-reviewed manuscripts, analytical reports, or evidence synthesis for policy and program decision-making, is desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical and programmatic assistance in the design and implementation of hypertension and diabetes treatment and control activities, including capacity-building, planning and implementation processes, health information systems, and strengthening supervision and mentorship of service providers and supervisors;
- Support strengthening of comprehensive primary health care in the delivery of hypertension and diabetes services integrated with other national priorities like HIV/AIDS, RMNCHA+, nutrition, and tuberculosis, based on evidence-based standards;
- Support project activities, including trainings, on-site coaching, and workshop planning, to ensure smooth implementation.
- Assist in planning and monitoring uthe ninterrupted availability of hypertension and diabetes medicines at the service delivery points and strengthening of overall drug procurement and supply chain systems;
- Work with partners and project teams to establish systems for tracking progress, indicators, and deliverables according to agreed work plans to ensure partner and donor requirements are met;
- Conduct regular supportive supervision visits to project sites and monitor program implementation to improve the quality of care;
- Support rapid cycle process improvements and institutionalisation of quality improvement strategies in the supported projects and programs;
- Support research or any innovation strategies to scale up the hypertension control program in other areas.
- Support the development of knowledge management products, prepare technical presentations, programme reports, FAQs, scientific manuscripts, and policy briefs, as needed, for policy advocacy and program development.
- Collaborate with other team members and partners for acceleration, optimisation, and effective implementation of the projects and programs;
- Explore private sector engagement for strengthening hypertension and diabetes control.
- Any other technical assistance activities assigned by the organization.
