Job Description:
As a Medical Officer, the selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring error-free processing of pre-authorisation requests within the agreed turnaround time (TAT). This includes entering accurate information into the application defined by the organisation, reviewing structured clinical data against specified medical terms and diagnoses or procedure codes, and following established procedures defined by the insurer and the organisation.
Key Responsibilities for Vidal Health Medical Officer:
- Process pre-authorisation requests accurately and efficiently.
- Review clinical data and ensure compliance with medical terms and procedure codes.
- Inform providers as needed and file completed precertification requests.
- Interact with providers for discharge summaries as required.
- Ensure 100% accuracy of all authorisation approvals.
- Escalate any authorisations not in line with limits to the team manager.
- Seek medical opinions from specialists when necessary.
