About the Organization:
The National Center for Vector Borne Diseases Control (NCVBDC) under Dte.GHS, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India, implements the National Vector Borne Diseases Control Programme (NVBDCP). This national programme focuses on prevention and control of Malaria, Japanese Encephalitis, Dengue, Chikungunya, Kala-azar, and Lymphatic Filariasis. Malaria, Kala-azar, and Lymphatic Filariasis are targeted for elimination, making this MBBS job a critical public health role.
Under Grant Cycle 7 (2024–2027) of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM), the Intensified Malaria Elimination Project-3 (IMEP-3) is being implemented, with PCI India selected as the NGO-SR for HR and SBCC activities.
Qualifications:
- MBBS with Post-Graduate Degree/Diploma in PSM or Community Medicine
OR - MBBS/BDS with MPH and 3–5 years of public health experience
MBBS Job Description:
This MBBS job supports NCVBDC in the effective implementation of the GFATM-funded IMEP-3 programme across the National, State, District, and Sub-district levels. The position focuses on monitoring and evaluation, malaria surveillance, programme implementation, and evidence-based decision-making to improve outcomes under national health programmes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor malaria epidemiology across States, UTs, and Districts
- Support programme planning and implementation at multiple levels
- Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks
- Supervise HR activities and review monthly performance reports
- Conduct mid-term and end-term evaluations of the programme
- Assist with HMIS, IHIP, and MIS implementation
- Review monthly, quarterly, and annual programme reports
- Strengthen entomological surveillance and epidemic preparedness
- Coordinate with IDSP and other national health programmes
- Conduct field visits (minimum 10 days per month)
- Provide training and capacity-building support
- Participate in national and sub-national review meetings
Required Skills for an MBBS Job:
- Expertise in surveillance, epidemiology, outbreak response, and VBD control
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and digital platforms
- Knowledge of SPSS, Epi Info, and statistical software
