Job Description:
The Medical Science Liaison is a field-based, scientific, and clinical expert who strategically supports the medical and scientific objectives of the program. Researched and relatable, science-driven and social, you’re an extroverted expert. Poised, articulate, and scientifically grounded, you excel as a listener, educator, and a connector of new opportunities. These qualities position you for success as a Medical Science Liaison with Syneos Health. This Medical Science Liaison job focuses on engaging in peer-to-peer scientific dialogue with healthcare professionals that translate into meaningful insight while serving as a therapeutic expert.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish, cultivate, and maintain scientific relationships with KOL’s while developing a strong understanding of clinical practice as it relates to areas of interest to advance scientific and medical knowledge.
- Plan and execute medical strategy and engagement for appropriate assigned customer.
- Communicate clinical and scientific data to KOLs and healthcare professionals through presentations, educational programs, and scientific discussions.
- Serve as the primary resource to provide support for addressing unsolicited medical questions and other scientific exchange matters.
- Identify, gather, and document field generated scientific insights to drive innovative Medical Affairs strategies while complying with industry and corporate policies and procedures.
- Maintain scientific and clinical knowledge base through continuous learning and awareness of related scientific literature to enable meaningful scientific exchange.
Qualifications:
Along with your ability to remain at the forefront of your field, you must possess:
- MD or equivalent degree preferred
- 2+ years of industry experience as a Medical Science Liaison or 5+ years of clinical or related practical experiences in GI/Liver required
- Strong scientific & clinical acumen
- Ability to quickly understand & translate complex scientific data & realize the potential impact of that data on clinical practice & potential research needs
- Ability to travel up to 60%, overnights and weekends may be required
- Possess a valid driver’s license to drive to assigned healthcare accounts, unless otherwise specified
