Optometrist Job: Qualifications
Essential:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Optometry (B.Optom) or Diploma in Optometry
- Strong clinical knowledge in eye examinations and vision assessment
- Excellent communication and patient-handling skills
Preferred:
- Experience in ophthalmic diagnostics or working in eye hospitals
- Familiarity with advanced technologies (LASIK, OCT, biometry, etc.)
Role Overview
The optometrist will be responsible for delivering comprehensive eye care services, performing accurate diagnostic evaluations, and supporting ophthalmologists in clinical decision-making and surgical workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed eye examinations and vision assessments
- Diagnose refractive errors and prescribe corrective lenses
- Assist in pre- and post-operative evaluations
- Guide patients on eye health, treatment plans, and vision care practices
- Operate high-precision diagnostic tools, including OCT, topography, and biometry
- Coordinate closely with ophthalmologists and clinical teams
- Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure a high-quality patient experience
