OT Technician Job – Required Qualifications
- Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Operation Theatre Technology or Anesthesia
- 1–6 years of relevant OT experience (minimum 2 years preferred)
- Strong understanding of surgical workflows and sterilization protocols
Role Overview
The OT Technician (Scrub) will play a key role in preparing patients, assisting surgeons during procedures, maintaining OT sterility, and ensuring all surgical equipment is safely sterilized and functional. The position demands precision, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to quality and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive patients in the OT and verify identification
- Ensure all documentation is complete prior to surgery
- Prepare patients for surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons and anesthetists during operations
- Check and update emergency medicines, oxygen supply, and OT drugs
- Sterilize instruments and maintain OT equipment
- Uphold strict sterilization and infection control protocols
- Give priority to emergency cases and coordinate with the concerned departments
- Maintain all departmental records and documentation
- Handle patient and organizational information with strict confidentiality
- Participate in Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities
- Assist in Continuous Quality Improvement processes
- Perform additional duties as assigned during workflow exigencies
