The advertised position is part of the ICMR-funded project titled “Efficacy of Allogenic Mesenchymal Stem Cells in Reducing Fibrosis and Enhancing Muscle Regeneration in Patients with Oral Submucous Fibrosis: A Randomized Controlled Trial.” The project, led by Dr. Varun Surya, CDER, AIIMS New Delhi, focuses on evaluating regenerative medicine approaches to treat OSMF and improve patient outcomes through advanced stem-cell–based therapies.
Qualification:
- MDS in Oral Medicine or Oral Pathology
- Minimum 3 years of post-MDS experience
Desirable Experience:
- Hands-on experience in biopsy techniques
- Strong understanding of research methodology and clinical study processes
About the Role:
The Project Research Scientist–III (Medical) will support the clinical, technical, and scientific aspects of the research trial. The role involves patient-related procedures, biopsy techniques, data management, and active participation in research methodology and study execution. The scientist will work closely with the principal investigator and multidisciplinary teams to ensure the successful implementation of the trial.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform clinical assessments and assist with patient recruitment for the randomized controlled trial
- Conduct biopsy procedures as required under study protocol
- Ensure accurate documentation, data entry, and maintenance of trial records
- Coordinate with investigators, clinicians, laboratory teams, and research staff
- Assist in specimen handling, reporting, and study-related clinical tasks
- Contribute to scientific documentation, presentations, and publications
- Ensure adherence to ICMR, AIIMS, and ethical guidelines throughout the project
