CVS Health Careers: Qualifications
Required:
- Medical Doctor (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.)
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- Active, unrestricted State License
- Active DEA License
- US work authorization
Preferred:
- Fellowship training in Geriatrics
- Experience with geriatric populations
- Familiarity with value-based healthcare models
- Outpatient primary care experience
- Collaborative work experience
- Bilingual proficiency, where applicable
About the Role
As a primary care physician at Oak Street Health, you will:
- Provide equitable, value-based primary care to Medicare patients.
- Focus on outcomes rather than service volume.
- Participate in patient-centered care, preventive medicine, and low hospital admission strategies.
- Potentially be considered for the Center Medical Director positions based on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and treat patients in local clinics.
- Oversee, direct, and administer primary care services.
- Prescribe and manage pharmaceutical treatments.
- Maintain patient records via electronic medical record systems (Canopy and Greenway).
- Collaborate with regional and central leadership to meet quality metrics.
- Work with practice managers to direct and manage care teams.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
