CVS Health Careers: Qualifications

Required:

  • Medical Doctor (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.)
  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
  • Active, unrestricted State License
  • Active DEA License
  • US work authorization

Preferred:

  • Fellowship training in Geriatrics
  • Experience with geriatric populations
  • Familiarity with value-based healthcare models
  • Outpatient primary care experience
  • Collaborative work experience
  • Bilingual proficiency, where applicable

About the Role

As a primary care physician at Oak Street Health, you will:

  • Provide equitable, value-based primary care to Medicare patients.
  • Focus on outcomes rather than service volume.
  • Participate in patient-centered care, preventive medicine, and low hospital admission strategies.
  • Potentially be considered for the Center Medical Director positions based on experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, and treat patients in local clinics.
  • Oversee, direct, and administer primary care services.
  • Prescribe and manage pharmaceutical treatments.
  • Maintain patient records via electronic medical record systems (Canopy and Greenway).
  • Collaborate with regional and central leadership to meet quality metrics.
  • Work with practice managers to direct and manage care teams.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
