Accountabilities:
- Apply scientific knowledge and insights relevant to therapeutic areas, healthcare systems, products, disease state management, emerging therapies, and the competitive landscape, integrated with knowledge of the regulatory environment, to create compelling medical content and communication.
- Collaborate with Medical Information and Communications (MI&C) staff and key stakeholders to execute scientific content strategy, and develop and disseminate scientific content to meet customer needs.
- Support HCPs through delivery of high-quality, timely, customer-focused medical information.
- Contribute to MI&C processes to drive operational excellence, efficiency, and digital innovation.
- Lead/Support the development, review and maintenance of scientific communication materials (e.g., MI requests, digital assets, Field Medical materials) in collaboration with MI&C team and Medical Affairs.
- Create scientifically balanced responses to medical information inquiries from Health Care Providers to support the appropriate use of AstraZeneca products. Address escalated inquiries from local markets.
- Identify, analyze and report trends and medical and scientific insights to stakeholders to inform business strategy and scientific content and communication needs.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- Advanced scientific degree (PharmD preferred, MD, PhD, or equivalent)
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant drug/medical information in the pharmaceutical industry or comparable experience within the healthcare/clinical/hospital or medical communications environment
Desirable Skills/Experience:
- Clinical and healthcare systems expertise
- Scientific literature evaluation and analysis
- Scientific/medical writing, communication, and content creation (e.g., slide decks)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
