Unlocking Success: The Ultimate Strategy for Cracking NEET 2023!

Cracking NEET: A Simple Strategy for Success

No matter who you are or where you come from, if you follow the strategy outlined in this article, you can definitely crack NEET 2024. Whether you are attempting NEET for the first time or if you are in 11th or 12th standard, this strategy will make a lot of sense to you. So let’s dive in!

Setting Your Target Score

The first step is to analyze the scoring set for NEET, which means getting 150 MCQs correct out of 180 without negative markings. Plan accordingly and decide how many questions you will attempt in each subject based on your strengths and weaknesses. Most students aim for 330+ in biology, 150+ in chemistry, and 120+ in physics. Achieving these scores will give you a total that is more than 600. Your main goal should be to get at least one subject’s score correct in NEET.

The Interleaving Law

The interleaving law suggests that instead of focusing exclusively on one subject at a time, it can be helpful to alternate between subjects. Many students follow a study pattern where they dedicate three hours to each subject (biology, physics, and chemistry) in a day. However, you can also try studying differently. Instead of spending three continuous hours on one subject, spend one hour on biology, one hour on physics, and another hour on chemistry. This method allows your brain to process information longer and helps with long-term retention.

Study with Focus

Cracking NEET Strategy

It is better to study for 30 minutes with full concentration than to study aimlessly for an entire day. Our brain can only concentrate for about 30 to 40 minutes continuously. To maintain focus, try using the Pomodoro Technique. Set a timer for 20 minutes and study with full concentration. Then take a 5-minute break. After four cycles, take a 30-minute break. This technique enhances your productivity and helps you retain information more effectively.

Subject-specific Strategies

1. Biology

After watching lectures, read the NCERT multiple times. Solve previous year’s questions and take notes. It is crucial to understand the concepts by looking at real-life examples. Additionally, try solving AIMs, JIPMER, and JEE Main questions. For revision, instead of just reading the content, close the book and try to recollect the information. This active recall technique is the key to success in biology.

2. Physics and Chemistry

For physics, take good notes during lectures and read the NCERT like you would read a newspaper. Solve previous year’s questions and also try solving JEE Main questions. Similarly, you can take good notes for chemistry, read the NCERT multiple times, and solve the previous year’s questions. Revising by recollecting information rather than re-reading the contents will help strengthen your understanding of these subjects as well.
